I was watching an old episode of TNG, 211-Contagion. The Bridge of the Enterprise's sister ship, the Yamato, is shown. Although only a small piece can be seen, it would suggest that the Yamato's bridge is drastically different from the Enterprise's. Here is my suggestion:
Allow customization of bridge modules on larger "hub ships". These ships are only purchasable by guilds anyway, and a customizable bridge module would be something extra a guild would have to design, and then set up. Each one would have to include certain stations, i.e. tactical, conn, ops, etc., but would allow guilds to put their own thumbprint on their own ship, giving them some personalization. Furthermore, it would allow guilds to make design descisions. Is your ship more of an exploration vessel or more of a tactical vessel?
This could be purely RP in nature, but if the devs go with it, could also open up new mission abilities. More science stations allows more science missions, more tactical allows more tactical missions. Therefore, a tactical officer will look for a tactical ship, and be more likely to group with gamers that match the play style they choose.
What do you guys think?
