Most of the dL has downloaded and installed the Lotus Fleet mod.
Uss Intrepid is still having some problems which hopefully will be resolved by tomorrow.
We had a Lotus fleet server on earlier today to try it out.I believe all of us became enthusiastic about it.
I really loved it and enjoyed the game very much.It was a pleasant shock to find my Rhode Island equipped with TP and Q torpedoes!!!.
If only those ventral shields could be enhanced ;-)

The only thing i did not liked was the fact that in close combat there is such an excess of explosion,smoke and particles that it impairs visibility to the point of loosing target completely....
Perhaps there is some way to turn fx down a bit there.

Anyway,its great that you are organizing such events which truly revive the best Star Trek Game to date (in my humble opinion that is...)

I am anticipating that we are going to have at least 25-30 people in attendance based on the number of views and posts this thread has received thus far :)

Just 7 hours to go now till the big event gets started!

question:if theres over 30 people then they wont be able to fit in one server so what will happen?

I'll have to setup my FRAPS to take screenshots every 10 or 20 seconds so that we can post a gallery from the event afterwards :)

Well, I tried to buy a copy on E-bay so I could join in the fun with you guys, but I'm not paying $50 bucks for a 7 year old game. =) Have fun!

Just a couple of rules and notes about the event today:

1) No launching shuttles at all please - Too many shuttles cause horrible lag and we expect 20-30 people to attend so no launching shuttles or any other form of launched ship

2) No Borg or Species 8472 - - If you play as either of these races, expect to get ganged up on.

3) We will be running in 2 teams, try to keep it balanced.

4) Not sure which starmap yet, but it will be one with at least 3 or 4 warp-able locations.

5) At some point during the game, we will be adding in an AI control Borg Cube or some other super ship, its up to you whether or not you engage it, but they are fairly tough in this game, so it'll probably take 20 or 30 ships to take it down! - Fun fun fun to be sure.
