So do you think the Dominion will still exist? I think the Founders are going to let it fall apart. I doubt they have the will or power to control so many races now. Granted we've only seen a few on screen but I bet they altered others.

 I don't know, the Dominion has always been about control as far as the founders are concerned. They have always been paranoid about being persecuted for their shape shifting abilities, hence their reasons for wanting to control everything so that they feel safe. Only this policy is gradually backfiring on them. If the Dominion falls apart, wont we see the founders implementing a far worse policy? Like instead of controlling other races for the protection of changeling society from persecution to a policy of multi racial genecide?

Have you ever seen the last episode of DS9? I am not sure how much to say because I don't want to spoil it (because it is awesome). The way the Founder...the one that ordered all those Cardassians deaths...acted at the end seems to indicate a change for the better in the Changeling's policies.

There was a definite hint of something there, yeah.  Maybe it was just that one Founder, but with Odo in the mix as well, perhaps a more tolerant view could form - just don't ask how long it would take :)

I think that when Cryptic decided to base the game in the year 2409, they did it with the understanding that they would have to map very large areas of space.

By the Nemesis time period, Voyager had arrived back from the Delta Quadrant with all of that information and we know from the Pathfinder Project that Starfleet was planning to send a group of ships into the Delta Quadrant, primarily to rendevous with Voyager, but secondarily to explore.  I dont think they would drop these plans just because Voyager got home.

The Dominion War is over and from the various books we learned that the Dominion were going to allow ships back into the Gamma Quadrant to explore, so in 2409 there is no reason why VAST areas of space around the wormhole wouldnt have have been explored, and in fact, I would be disappointed if there wernt some races from the Gamma Quadrant that have joined the Federation by this point.

At the very least, the area around the gamma quadrant side of the wormhole should be built up Federation Territory.

So i believe that the Gamma Quadrant AND Delta Quadrant should be in at launch, not out of demand but out of canon requirement.

Expansion Packs you ask?  They should be other Galaxies completely.

I disagree with both:
If they make the Gamma and Delta quadrants expansion packs, it would give them much more time now to focus on the gameplay and design of graphics, storyline etc.

And other Galaxies? I believe it has been established in (iirc) TNG that it would take 1000s of years at high warp to get to the next galaxy.

Right but we are talking about having things like transwarp and slipstream - I think that would speed things up a bit.......

Let's also keep in mind how daunting is the volume of species and planets and possible plots already present in just the alpha quadrant.  Yes the tech will be there to get us to liquid space or the Tosk homeworld.  But let's not expect an entire galaxy of content on launch.  Chances are the game will be released before it is entirely ready.  I predict and would almost put money on at least one aspect of the game being incomplete and promised to us in a live update.  I won't be disappointed if the other quadrants are expansions.
