My only questions is....

Will the original lineup of playable races still be available (Humans, Vulcans, Andorians, Tellarites, Cardassians, Klingons and Ferengi) or has it changed at all?  Will any other races be playable at launch?

Please encourage them to add Romulans or at least Unified Vulkanized ones.

Hi there, first time posting on this forum. I come from the startrek.com forums. OK, down to business. Several questions, some already asked I'm sure, but here it goes:

Personal Questions

1. How many people on your staff are Star Trek fans, what are their favorite series, etc.?

2. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Star Trek Film?

3. Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, or Archer?

Basic Questions about the Game

1. Are you going to stick with any of the ideas that Perpetual had?

2. How far in development have you gotten since you took over in January/February?

3. Why all the secrecy behind you (Cryptic) being the Devs?

4. Are you going to try to get fan input on your game or will you develope the game and let the fans learn to love it?

5. Will you be more informative about the updates to the game now that you are officially the developer?

6. Is there any type of production timetable that you can share with the fanbase?

7. Will you be able to complete with WoW and other MMORPGs, even CO?

That's all for now, I'll let you fan sites ask the hard questions. Thanks, HF for letting us get an input ;)

medic- will you be able to choose a method of treatment or will it again be a system where you click "heal" and a loading bar appears?

science- how will you keep busy with this profession? how will you keep it interesting?

I haven't gone through all questions so I apologize in advance if there is already such a question.

1. How are you going to form tasks on the bridge when there is a battle going on like in PvP. Will the characters be forced to work as a team ala Puzzle Pirates or will it be a more simplified game play?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yohoho%21_Puzzle_Pirates       I will stick to ask this question until I see it in STO ;)

2. Is Cryptic going to follow an aggressive PR policy and so try to stand up against other big names like EVE and WOW?

3. Do you follow graphics that settle along the current comic style game series that overflows the market these days or are you engaged to stick to "reality" as much as possible?

A new question:

Will you be attempting to include some personalized RP type content like Lord of the Rings Online does with personalized quarters, a home of our own on the planet of our choosing (ala Kirk in Generations and Sisko in DS9), displayable trophies, established geneology and personal history, etc?

1. how far into development are you currently?
2. how far off are you from an actual playable build?
3. are you going to make people team-up to get/serve on the better ships while the solo players do not as a consequence of not being a team player?
4. what time period do you plan to set the game in?
5. can you confirm or deny any ship classes that we have seen on TV such as the Galaxy, Nebula, Intrepid, Defient
6. do you plan to implement ships that are apart of Trek game but have not been seen on TV such as the Achillies and Hutet that were in Star Trek: Dominion Wars aswell as Bridge Commander

Wow (and I don't mean the MMO  :@) I can't wait for that interview to happen.  Anyway, to the questions.....

What will the character creator be like?

Will we get a starter ship, such as a shuttle or runabout, or will we actually get a starship to begin.

How large will the game map?

How will professions/careers be handled?  How will advancement be handled?

Will group play be handled?  Will it be a group/fleet of ships or will we be joining the team leader onboard his/her ship.

Will race specific weapons (Klingon Bat'leth and others) be available in the game or will they be quest items?

That is all for now, I will think of more later.

I cant believe how many questions we have had so far. This is totally awesome - Its going to be a great interview. By all means folks, keep the questions coming!

It looks like we have a second interview scheduled with the new developers, in august, as well as the first one which should happen this month, so while we might not be able to ask all questions in the first interview, they will be included in the second one.

One that many will probably think I am crazy for.

Will I be able to play most of or the entire game without flying a ship?  I want to become a science officer or Engineer and do not want to have to worry about conn.  I do want to be on a large ship, just I want to play the game as an engineer.  The only flying I should do is shuttlecraft.

your not the only one. i feel the same way, i just hope repairing doesn't consist of clicking on the engine and a loading bar appears "repairing". it would be very interesting to actually do some repairing and modifications like being able to control the antimatter stream. maybe even be able to learn ways to make the warp drive and misc equipment work more efficiently just through trial and error.

i hope hf asks this question, it would make the game very interesting.

plus, maybe through these "trials and errors" you could get alot of experience when you make the warp drive and others more efficient.
