Greetings All,
On behalf of 3rd Fleet. We would like to respectfully decline all nominations in this field. It is our belief that any sort of nomination / polling on this sort of topic, will always be seen as highly questionable, and highly prone to exploiting and cheating on all sides and in the end really serves no purpose.
It is our belief that each fleet is great in their own way and no matter how many rules or measures are taken to ensure consistency of the results, that this type of contest will only ever be seen as controversial especially when the site hosting the contest has an official candidate of their own.
We would like to thank the people who gave us their support and thought that we were a worthy nomination, however respectfully decline. Please note that we have nothing against hailing frequencies (or any fleets they official support) as we have many members that are fans of your website and podcast. Please keep up the great work of Star Trek Community Building
For 3rd Fleet

All,
Out of respect for our friends and contracted Fleets as well as others who carry the star fleet and federation symbols and in an effort to allow Hailing Frequency the ability to remain neutral throughout these most prestigious events as well remain in good standing with all Star Trek, Star Trek Gaming and Star Trek Online Fleets, Lotus Fleet is hereby removing its nominations from all categories of the Players Choice Awards 2009.
We can see that this is neither a time or a place in which Lotus Fleet can be allowed to take part in these events and are unwilling to allow a community site who has served for many years in order to benefit the community as a whole to be accused of or create the possibility of being accused that favoritism is present during these awards. Lotus Fleet like its sponsored community site has since its inception worked to offer the community a resource like our Academy to all who are interested, We feel we have continually acted within the traditions of what we believe Star Fleet Officers and members of the federation should act and hold each of our members to a high standard accordingly. As a result we are given no choice other then to take these actions despite the hard work that each member of Lotus Fleet has done. I would like to personally apologize to Vice Admiral Stevens, Vice Admiral Athos, and Vice Admiral Rayez for having to withdraw their candidacy in the Community Star Awards. I would also like to apologize to ALL of Lotus Fleets Role players who have have worked to create a fun, exciting and engaging role playing environment for everyone involved.
And finally I would like to apologize to all of the Communities Fleets that Lotus Fleet did not recognize the possibility of these issues before hand and that these very happy, exciting, rewarding and positive reflection has been stained with such controversy.
As a result I hope that these events have not degraded the communities view of Hailing Frequency Podcast or Lotus Fleet as a whole.
Respectfully
Fleet Admiral Nova
Commanding Officer

Hello,
On behalf of {UFP} The United Federation of Planets, I would personally like to thank everyone who has nominated {UFP} for the Top Star Trek Fleet.
I would also like to respectfully decline any nominations for {UFP}. {UFP} has no particular issue with any specific nominee in this competition, nor with Hailing Frequency, however we feel that we cannot in good conscience participate as a fleet in this competition, while aspiring to act in accordance with the highest moral standards.
Although {UFP} will not be participating, SFC has no intention of trying to limit the enjoyment of other groups, and as such SFC is imposing no restictions on members who wish to vote for their friends.
Good luck to everyone participating, and I hope to see you all in STO!
